Scent & Personal Development

Scent & Personal Development

Both are hand-in-hand. One takes a while to develop on you and the other takes you a while to develop into. Being that Empowered by Finda Kpakiwa is a Personal Development fragrance for women, I think that this blog post would be able to marry the two.

Did you ever notice that some things just get better with time? From wine to whiskey, fine cigars, smoked meats and, of course, perfumes. The process of creating the scent of Empowered By Finda Kpakiwa took months to almost a year. Going back-and-forth to make sure that we have the right formula down (it’s not too strong, not too soft, and clean). Perfect on most women’s skin. This required me to wear it on my own skin so that I could take notes while running errands, etc. Months later, the exceptional scent was achieved. That was just one tiny part of the equation.  I had to become what I was selling, Empowered. I didn’t realize how much personal development was going to play a role in this fragrance journey. I was excited just like any other person who brings their service/product to fruition. You want to share it with the world and think that everyone’s going to buy! But first, they have to buy you! If you are not a reflection of what you are selling, IT WILL NOT WORK. Personal development is a long process, but absolutely worth it. It took seven years to create one scent for three different personas. Even though the perfume was already available, I had to realize the process of how to sell it. I literally had to become Bold, Brave and Empowered in order for me to convey the message to the market.

I know what you might be thinking, does that pertain to me? I’m not selling a product or service.  The answer is YES. In order for us as human beings to become who we truly are meant to be or a better version of ourselves, we have to keep growing. Just like perfume, personal development is not one size fits all. We’re in different places in our lives at any given time. The same perfume does not work for everyone’s body chemistry in the same way, or for an even better understanding, can you see yourself wearing the same perfume/cologne that you wear in junior high or high school as an adult? That applies to personal development. You can’t be the same person that you were mentally then as an adult. It keeps you stagnant. Just how it’s guaranteed for new fragrances to be introduced every season, personal development is a constant road.

So seek out that new scent/venture that evokes who you are in this point in your life.
